THE CARNABYS : The five piece from South West london conquer Germany

West London daily newspaper calls them the best band to come out of London since The Who...Could they be right ?

The CARNABYS come on stage with the confidence that only a young English band can . A very skillful five piece unit, with a cracking lead guitar player, they are all students of some of the best rock music schools in their country. In London, a journalist from the Chiswick chronicle went as far as describing them as the best band to come out of West London since The Who. Now, I don't know if he's old enough to see the Who and there's been many bands from West London sincxe but I thought the comparison was quite a lot to live up to. After I saw them, I have to agree really. They are that good.
Spacing from slow numbers to faster soul, bluesy rock pieces, the boys know how to write a great tune as well as deep meaningful lyrics. Lyrics that had all the people in the front of the stage daydreaming. We know UK bands usually have the edge and know how to write great tunes and put up a great show. These young guys are proof that even at 18, they fit into that category...The Journalist was right, they are one of the best bands to come out of West London. Actually the whole of old London Town. Forget the Olympics, forget Tower Bridge....go see the Carnabys next time you're there.
