    Formed in around 1996, Grovers Coma was the product of jamming with various lineups over a number of years while at Uni. As there are no records of when the name "Grovers Coma" was taken as the bands official name it is hard establish it's true orign. Some rumours suggest it is an adaption of an earlier name "Grover's Carpet Boner", but there is no written evidence of this name ever being used. It is also highly unlikely that the band would use a children television character in such a discraceful way.
