    TOP STORIES
The Miles started officially late in the year of 2004. However, The Miles, were destined to become a band during the summer of 2001 when Jon Lawlor and Clint Herring started playing music in the basement of Clint's house. The music was always there but the means for a band didn't really surface until the fall of 2004. It started with Jon's decision not to go to college and instead follow a more artistic dream. It was further accelerated by Clint Herring's decision to cut his college coreer short in the beginning of his third year to pursue a life less ordinary and follow his heart. The search for a Bass Guitarist ended with the addition of an early childhood friend of both Jon and Clint, Pat Mitchell. With his background in playing with bands and his love for making sweet bass licks, he was a beautiful addition. The Miles were left with the mission to find a drummer. Until one day when an e-mail came from a man named Chris Link, an interested drummer with oogobs of experience. It was quickly determined that he was exactly what the band was looking for. The band's influences range from Jeff Buckley to Damien Rice to The Red Hot Chili Peppers to The Used and because of their diverse musical backgrounds they feel that it is their mission to create something new and fresh in the Washington D.C. music scene. And so The Miles begin...
