Sometimes, nice guys DO win!  No one could have been more surprised than BROKEN PICTURES themselves this Saturday night when the winner of the Montreal Final was announced. These guys, whose sound brings to mind a harder, edgier, more soulful Matchbox 20, were happy just to have the chance to play at Le Medley, and were not expecting a win – after all, they have been together barely a year and had an early time slot.  Maybe this relaxed attitude is what made the difference on stage.  Francois, Sylvain, Benoit and Jean-Francois truly shone, performing their compositions with heart – they truly looked as if they owned the stage.
