    HOW THE FESTIVAL WORKS

     INFORMATION ABOUT THE BAND CONTEST EDITION 2015/2016 

    • A LIVE STAGE FOR YOUR BAND!


      Emergenza is a live participative concept aimed at musicians and emerging artists, created to give life to your music projects on the best stages.

    • THE FESTIVAL


      Emergenza is the biggest and most important musical contest for emerging bands in the world. It was born in 1991 and is organized in 33 countries and 187 cities on 4 continents. It takes place from September to June in Montreal for Canada.


    • THE CONCERTS


      During each concert 8 bands take the stage. Each band will present a live set of 25 minutes.

      The backline, technical team, venues and production are taking in charge by the organization. Bands only have to bring their personal instruments.

      In Montreal, the festival is divided in 3 steps.

      During the first steps, the bands judgement is done by show of hand of:
      A) All musicians who play or have played during the year (that have free access to every concert)

      B) The public present at the concert (who paid a ticket for the show)

      Also, during first steps, a technical jury meet every concert night and can bring back one band per night.

    • THE EMERGENZA SPIRIT


      Emergenza is against the "pay to play". Every band has the possibility to make money with the public present at the concert.


      Inscription on our website is completely FREE. Once the concert date is chosen and confirmed, a 40$ deposit is needed during the booking meeting. The deposit is reimbursed on the concert day if the band plays live. There is absolutely no other cost or deposit for the rest of the season. 


      Unlike other contests, there is no mandatory ticket sales at Emergenza, therefore each band is free to manage his own promotion as they like. 

    • THE FINALS


      During the finals, a professional jury is present at the show, choose the winners and offer the technical prizes such as instruments, amps, cymbals, drum kits, microphones, studio time, distribution and other accessories.

    • THE INTERNATIONAL FINAL


       The winners of the Canadian finals will participate in (airfare and lodging taken in charge by the organisation) the Grand World Finals in Germany during the Taubertal Open Air Festival.

      The winners of the Worlds finals, will win an International distribution, a promotion campaign in 12 countries and a European tour completely sponsored by the organisation.

    • THE EMERGENZA PLUS


       Each season, Emergenza will send a couple of bands in studio amongst the most promising talents (without taking their position in the festival in account). 

      During each concert, the winning band of the evening wins the possibility to distribute its music online through the organisation.
