I Revolt is a 5-piece metal band from Finland founded in the beginning of 2016. Their music is a combination of tight riffs, old-school guitar solos and Death/metalcore-type of growling/screaming. So far they have released an EP in July 2017, one single ”(Un)fortunate” which they filmed a music video for as well, and one cover song ”Waking the Demon” in April 2018. Now they are focusing on playing gigs as much as possible and writing new music...so stay tuned! 

1)  You  have  participated  in  the  Emergenza  Festival  Edition  2017/2018.  What made you decide to take part in it? 

We thought that we get at least some shows out of it and more experience, our name out there and that kind of stuff. It went better than any of us ever could have imagined. 

2) As you approach the world final, what is your state of mind? 

Very excited and a bit surreal to be honest! 

3) What is your best memory from your Emergenza experience?  

Just to see all the friends and family that came to every show and supported us all the way and of course all the new friends we made and the awesome bands we got to see and hang out with. 

4) What's behind your band's name? Any specific meaning? 

Not really a specific meaning but it’s simple and self-explanatory. This kind of music is pretty revolting and we all like to revolt one way or another. 

5) If you had to choose a famous song that represents your band...which one would it be? 

That’s a hard one but probably something like Pantera – 5 minutes alone. 

6) Can you tell us a funny story or anecdote about your experience on stage? And one which happened in backstage or during the preparation of a show ? 

Nothing that specific comes to mind but just the feeling playing on big stages like Nosturi in Helsinki and Pumpehuset in Copenhagen, so much space to use and the adrenaline rush is insane. 

7) How would you describe your music ?  

Straight forward riff driven kickass metal with attitude. 

8)  Before  you  go  on  stage,  do  you  have  a  ritual  or  a  good  luck  charm  that  goes everywhere with you? 

Nothing special but we usually go backstage with the band some time before show time to calm ourselves down, warm up and get into live mode. Then we just nod to each other or something and go up on stage. 

9) What is your dream gig? 

Probably to get to play with bands like Lamb of God, The Haunted, Lost Society, As I Lay Dying... 

10) What can audiences expect from one of your live performances? 

A lot of energy, adrenaline, excitement and sore necks! 

11) If you could invite a band or an artist at your party, dead or alive, who would it be? 

Without a doubt Pantera. 

12) What are your short to medium term plans after the international final? 

Just keep doing what we are doing. Writing new music and playing live as much as we possibly can! Hoping to get more shows abroad.
 

13) What inspires you when you are composing (musical inspirations or others) ? 

Basically what we are listening to at the moment. Sometimes something new and sometimes something old, it depends. Sometimes some rock sometimes metal, sometimes even blues. But usually our music just happens and comes out naturally, what sounds good is good! 

14) What question did I forget?  

What kind of animal are you? We are a band full of mice! 

15) Why do you think you deserve to win the 2018 Festival edition? 

We always deliver a killer show, we are real and we get the crowd moving. We are bringing back the more traditional approach to metal. Keep it raw and authentic!
