Here are 3 reasons why you need to do the Emergenza music festival if you are ambitious about your musical project.
Below you will find a simple list of reasons what we call “common sense for bands”. If you are too scared or too “cool for school” then this could obviously be a deterrent in your case. If you are not afraid of anything then carry on. Working hard in every field is a normal practice but working hard and showing what you are worth is a bonus that will not go unnoticed.
1) Experience a professionally run stage.
When was the last time you, as an independent band, had a stage hand putting everything in place for you? When was the last time you had somebody cracking the whip and treating you like a true professional musician? When was the last time you didn’t have to load a drum kit and heavy amps on stage? We do it for you! Emergenza does this every time you step on stage. Think about it. You have a time slot to respect….no slacking allowed. You get on with the program and you gain experience and professional attitude. This is fundamental if you want to work and be respected by the people in the field. This is your “apprenticeship”. Sound engineers do this as a profession. You don’t. So listen to their rules and tips. We run the stage and do this for you, with you. Whether a huge stage like the Metropolis in Montréal or a smaller one like the Cercle in Quebec these are all professionally run stages. The stage tech, the presenter, the sound engineer, the supervisor they are part of a team that are paid to help you grow. just do it.
2) Teach you (and force you) how to promote your band…..properly!.
Once again, hard work maybe, but this is what your band will do: benefit from it. Promoting shamelessly is not only “the mantra” every band should have but it’s a way of life if every musician believes in his or her music. We have competent staff, we have written many pieces on the subject and in the digital world it is still fundamental to learn who your target is. We do the sting up logistically but you do the promotion. You promote through our Social network channels, through our good managers tips and teachings but ultimately it is you, the good “student” that does it. We are here to support you. We have many things to help you push your band and music such as gig exchanges in other cities (to expose you in other markets), Digital distribution and compilation albums that are printed and given all over the world (including music business managers). One such group that was taught by us is The Royal Republic. Now they are touring the world with a Warner Brothers contract under their belt.
3) We take you to Germany to play a huge open air festival.
Let’s be honest here. There are no amateur Canadian bands that have ever achieved such thing. You simply can’t pack and go play a huge stage with big headliners in Germany. In the past, we’ve seen Canadian bands do European tours on the back of this but basically this could not have been possible without our help. We make it happen for you. The winning band from Canada will fly to the other side of the world to take part in one of the coolest open air festivals Europe has to offer. The atmosphere of the German crowd cheering for all that is good live music is intoxicating. There is no such thing as topping this. Sex doesn’t even come close. The feeling of being on stage and knowing that nobody knows you but then you get thousands of screaming, drunken, happy Germans asking for an encore is simply magic. We talked about a professional run stage? well, see how we do it with 40,000 watts and a 20 metre wide stage. You warm the crowd, Biffy Clyro will thank you.
There are many stories and happy incidents we can tell you about but you need to come and talk to us directly. A stage, a back-line, A club, a compilation album, a small tour, a live photographic shoot, a promoted page, a nudge o the music business people. All of this is happening through Emergenza Festival. Do it and you’ll benefit. Stay home and dream. At least with us you can have a stab at it.
