An alternative rock band with an edge to their music and lyrics that will have you thinking of distant places and even other genres. The music of Zambonia is at its core alternative, but listening to it a little closer, especially The Thief there is most definitely a mix of punk and I would venture to say some Irish-folksy sounds as well. With this diverse mixture of sounds it’s not a surprise these band has a good following. They maintain this following with a healthy dose of live shows for their fans and access to themselves via various online band forums. A good deal of info on the band can be found online and they are very good at keeping it up to date and relevant.
Using their music as a tool to share their world views with the audience, Zambonia’s songs are very well written both musically and lyrically. The singer’s deep voice is very distinct and matches the genre very well. When combined with the melodic backing vocal it’s the perfect synthesis. Strong arrangements and instruments that are very tight make this band a strong contender in their upcoming show with the Emergenza International Music Festival. They will be taking to the stage alongside six other bands, for a chance at the event’s semi-final round at Club Soda. With a few other shows lined up for the next few weeks, 2013 is shaping up to be a busy year for this foursome.
