    Emergenza Festival shines in Montreal!

Vivid vibes this past weekend at L'Alizé

Thursday, November 23rd Dysfunktional started the evening off with that full throttle vibe. Their frontman kept it alive with maximum interaction. It was obvious these high school-ers were enthusiastic about the music they made. Wake Up Call followed with a fresh, upbeat pop sound. They had their act together which guaranteed good times! Tommy Mack modern folk twist had every audience member tapping their toes. The musicians knew how to pull off their musical arrangements with gusto. Avatar’s age reflected absolutely nothing: they may have been young but their skills were off the charts. No vocals, but the audience had no problem connecting with them. The Rock Bottoms threw a dance party on-stage where everyone could indulge! Pocketpatty had poeple in awe. This 4-piece led the way with a complete improvisational piece. Talented wouldn''t begin to describe them. Enteka were an awesome franco band from Montreal. High energy, fast paced. Empty Brother Paul finished the evening with fresh vocals and a so-fun sound. Friday, November 24th 13 Dead End Drive opened up for Emergenza''s 5th preliminary show at L''Alizé with their very first live set! Classic rock and roll, awesome way to set the mood. Soundasleep played an enthusiastic sounding set, the bassist player was on fire! Brutal Embush packed the room with family and friends...they got everyone pumped. Their vocalist made sure to interact as much as possible, fellow musicians rocked it hard. End Of Crisis brought back a sweet hardcore sound everyone welcomed. They pulled out everything they had and it worked incredibly for them. Only thing missing was cowbell! Old Engine was previous night's winner Avatar's main project: all instrumental once again, delicate jazzy-grunge feel, most audience members hailed their performance. Unbeing first show went well! Awesome, wholesome metal sound. Hindsight closed the evening with intense vocal range and technical skills galore! Saturday, November 25th Stain On Society opened the 6th preliminary evening with boudnless energy. With a room full of people chanting their name and stage presence everyband can take an example from, you could tell these dudes knew what was up. Ground’s Hero also seemed to have a devote fan base. Effortless performance made for an awesome set their friends could enjoy. Slain In Fire ripped apart with classic metal flavour: bravo! Lithium Output's punk rock sound put me in a fantastic mood. Screw Blink 182, welcome Lithium output!! Oursens had me pleasantly surprised: when they put on their stage wear, they instantly transformed into rockstars. Their live performance was never compromised for the slightest second. Killsaw poured as much aggressive, progressive sound into the crowd as they could…and it worked! The Crash Institute kept things simple but reminded everyone was music really is... Md And The medicine played their set with grace, showed they were having a great time. Houle And The Gang topped the evening off with traditional, have a good-time rock and roll. Poised performance! Congratulation to first round winners!
