Hot Sound In Toronto!
Another successful weekend at the Kathedral
Another round of Emergenza shows took place last week in Toronto and it was a big success.
Great bands performed on the Kathedral’s stage which is one of the hottest spot in town and rocked out hundreds of people.
Thursday, November 23th
On Thursday the young fellows from Soul Jammers kicked off with a rock’n’roll neat performance. The Alpha Project played a very peculiar set featured by electric percussion and a quite trippy progressive sound.
The 3 piece experienced rock band Paije performed a very powerful set. Proper Villains went up on stage next and played a very tight and dynamic gig.
The alternative band Insignia came all the way from Cambridge ON and got the crowd to move and jump. The metal band 13 Seconds took the stage next and killed the audience with great guitar work and killer vocals.
Twilight Reign closed the night with a rock progressive energetic set.
Friday, November 24th
On Friday Antigonie started the night with a bang. Very catchy tunes were a lot of fun for the crowd.
Next in the line up was Man The Destroyer, a very talented and tight band that rocked the all venue. Liar And The Thief followed with great songs and Sean Cosier played a very entertaining show.
Fourthwall performed a very interesting set: nice melodies and great music arrangements! Counterfit Fifty put together a very neat sound and had some of the best stage presence of the all weekend.
Mellonhead from Kingston ON threw a lot of energy on stage. Great guitars!
Boochika closed the night with a very alternative and peculiar sound that was a lot of fun.
Saturday, November 25th
On Saturday punky guys from Home In 8 Days started the night getting the crowd in a very good mood… I loved their quirkiness!
Avenue Road was up next and showed how amazingly good they are at playing their instruments.
The 5 girls from Fidget put on stage a very dynamic rock set.
Days Ahead was very powerful and efficient and Negative Attraction pulled off a very vibrant set: their good quality got both bands to move on to the quarter final round.
Streamlined went on stage next and performed a very neat set. The acoustic show from The Shady J’s got the had the entire crowd dancing and singing along.
Sunday, November 26th
On Sunday night the very young guys from Parallel Twelve opened up the show with a brilliant and entertaining instrumental rock-funky set. Keep up the good work guys!
X Among Y performed a very tight rock set. The vocalist was a female with great singing skills.
Screaming Black Cadillacs was a breath of fresh air. The 3 piece rockabilly band put on a very dynamic show with the peculiar sound of the standard bass and an amazing ‘screaming’ guitar. After those bands loud and aggressive metal took over with bands such Through The Ages, Hypertension, Step Function and Buried And Breathing.
It was a great weekend of fun for local music.
Emergenza will be back at the Kathedral in January with more fantastic bands dying to get a spot at the big final night and of course… at the Taubertal Open Air Festival in Germany!
