    After meeting in Montreal in 2001, DC native Tony "the bassist" Guinard and guitarists Nico and Fred were set on forming a band blending their blues, punk and metal influences. However, it wasn't until march of 2003 that the lineup was complete. With the addition of Chikoutimik native Ulysse B. filling in permanently on the drums, FloodGate developped a more technical, progressive sound.
