Interview with Belgian winners THE KLETS
Rock'n'Roll – Sweat – Energy
THE KLETS is a Belgian rock band formed at the end of 2014, and consists of four guys from Brussels who carry their capital deep in their guts. Influenced by yesterday's (Led Zeppelin, AC/DC, Guns N'Roses,...) and today's rock scenes (Foo Fighters, Rival Sons, QOTSA, The Black Keys,...), THE KLETS offers effective and powerfull rock compositions.
During the 2017's spring, they are spotted by Roland De Greef, Machiavel's bassist. Since then THE KLETS signed with Rox Records/Moonzoo for a first album scheduled for release during 2018's automn.

1) You have participated in the Emergenza Festival Edition 2017/2018. What made you decide to take part in it?
It was the occasion to participate to a famous contest, test our music compositions and play on well-known scenes in Belgium such as Atelier 210 and The Botanique - Also, it's also important for us to play live our songs.
2) As you approach the world final, what is your state of mind?
We are so excited and can't wait to turn Taubertal upside down! This is gonna be crazy.
3) What is your best memory from your Emergenza experience?
Definitely, the Final @ "The Botanique - Orangerie". This scene is mythic. The crowd and lights show were amazing.
4) What's behind your band's name? Any specific meaning?
THE KLETS is a typical expression from Brussels which means "The Idiots", but in a kind way.
5) If you had to choose a famous song that represents your band...which one would it be?
King's of Leon – Sex on Fire
6) Can you tell us a funny story or anecdote about your experience on stage? And one which happened in backstage or during the preparation of a show?
During one of our gig, Phil, our singer, received a bra on his mic in the middle of a song! Lovely and old-school! We can't wait for the next one!
7) How would you describe your music?
Rock'n'Roll – Sweat – Energy
8) Before you go on stage, do you have a ritual or a good luck charm that goes everywhere with you?
We first drink beers, dress like hell, then clap hands and shake each other. Then we get on the scene and enjoy ourselves and the public.
9) What is your dream gig?
Rock Wechter.
10) What can audiences expect from one of your live performances?
To see 4 performers who just want to have fun doing Rock'N'Roll for them.
11) If you could invite a band or an artist at your party, dead or alive, who would it be?
Without hesitation, we will invite "Foo Fighters" !
12) What are your short to medium term plans after the international final?
In september, our first 10 tracks album «Old Fashioned» will be available – produced by Rox Records/Moonzoo. Distributed in Belgium and available on digital platform. We also made a movie clip for one of the song to support the album. Meanwhile, we wanted to play lots of gig in Belgium and anywhere else.
13) What inspires you when you are composing (musical inspirations or others)?
Our inspirations are some groups we like the most and admire (Foo Fighters, Arctic Monkeys,...). Also we discuss each others, we love to talk and share our inspirations depending of the moment, the feelings.
14) What question did I forget?
Is our guitarist Chome free?
15) Why do you think you deserve to win the 2018 Festival edition?
Because we are probably the best zieverer in the World! Kidding aside, we deserved to win because we are especially live performers, with effective and full of energy Rock and Roll compositions.
We will sweat and make the audience sweat!
