Saturday, May 14th the national final of the Emergenza festival will be held at the legendary hall of the Metropolis
For this 15th edition of the festival in Canada, Emergenza wanted to make for this anniversary season, an exceptional event by permitting bands to play in more prestigious venues. That's why we decided to make the final in one of the most beautiful and emblematic concert hall in Montreal. Indeed the Metropolis, created in 1884 and once named the French Theatre was originally a skate rink and a theater hall. After many changes, the Metropolis became in 1997 the concert hall that has received Slash, David Bowie, Green Day, Coldplay, Radiohead, Bad Religion, Adele and many others.
Since the beginning of the festival in Canada, Emergenza received more than 1,500 bands in Quebec only, including 101 during this 2016 season. The 14 bands that will perform at the final have been selected by the audience in the first two selection rounds at the Crowley Arts Centre, Piranha Bar, the Alizé, or Club Lambi and at the semifinals at the Astral or Club Soda. The 14 finalists of this 15th edition are the BigBang, Tyrolienne Voodoo, the Bazaràmax, Bird Problems, Aramis, Hometown Lights, Black Sonna, Sex Machine Octopus, Macrame, Smoking Ar3a and FOXA. The concert starts at 6:00 PM sharp.
During this great show, an international panel of judges will select the winner which will represent Canada at the Taubertal festival in Germany for the international final this summer.
