I’m very excited about this band because it’s made up predominantly female musicians – YAY! With female leads on both the vocal and guitar, don’t let their young age and delicate looks fool you. The first thing I thought when I heard the intro to ‘Moi je m’en vais’ was WOW! A very powerful instrumental intro will put you right in your place if you planned on underestimating these guys. A sudden change of pace leads us into the vocal which is comprised of a smooth voice and heartfelt lyrics. The acoustic guitar helps define the band’s genre.

The video for the song is a great montage of some of Montreal’s landmark scenes – the Metro and a LOT of snow!  In addition to singing in  the language of the province, I things this is a great way to pay homage to their city.

 No stranger to taking part in local events for up & coming bands, Améthyst has recently taken part – and landed in the finals of a local battle of the bands. In keeping with the sprit of getting the band – and their music  - out to as many fans, new and old, as possible Améthyst will be taking part in the Emergenza Music Festival on February 17^th. They have teamed up with a band-friend, Zambonia to promote the show – a great way for both bands to gain NEW fans out of this experience.
