The band’s diverse origins and its member’s backgrounds, musical and otherwise are immediately noticeable when you listen to their music. One the things that sets them apart (and should simultaneously guarantee them the maximum response in Montreal) is the fact that they are equally comfortable with their songwriting and singing in French and English. Made up of mature, well season musicians the band is very tightly knit and their commitment to making music well is evident from the first look at their web presence through their musical showing.
The band’s sound is a balanced mix of soft spoken, poetic lines and interludes of what I can best identify as ska and maybe some Celtic beats. Their lyrics are both intriguing and so in-you face obvious that you can’t help but nod you head along. All together it makes for music that will have you guessing and at the edge of your seat, waiting to see what the next line will bring.
Something I found very effective is how they post some fantastic lyrics on the band’s Facebook page. A great way to remind the fans about their true goal, and let them see what L’Hereux Malheur is all about – on the inside! They guys are already pumped and preparing full throttle for their upcoming show at O Patros Vys for the Emergenza Festival.
