Every now and then you have to stop and listen for a second time. From the many links we get and screen through there is one that my collegue sent that we all liked. It was the link for "Haunted". A heartfelt song with lyrics so deep it touched us immediately. Moments like these it's hard not to fall into the traps of calling it a cliche'ed song of hurt and pain but these words are really effective in their simplicity.

The delivery from this woman is simply great. She feels the pain (sorry darling) and it shows. Her voice is warm and experienced. It sounds like a cross between nina simone, tom waits with the style of the best traditional blues singers. All that but the fact is that this woman is her own person. Musically it is like a standard blues but it's the "topping" on this simple foundation that makes it interesting musically.

Overall I think this is the perfect duo to pop into the stereo on a sunday morning or when you want to set the right mood. Us, we play this song over and over because we get some sort of soothing from this painful subject. It is brilliant to work with. No stress, fighting and no shouting around the office. Just relax and listen. Simply great.
