Five musicians came together in 2009 in a Stroke of Genius and formed a band with the same name. They have been buys wiring music, promoting the band and making a name for themselves on the local Montreal music scene since. They took an important  step this summer when they released their album back in July. A collection of pieces that was very well received by fans, the album has instilled in the band members the confidence to keep on working on their music and bringing it to the fans. Their metal music has inspired audiences and brought them together.

Stroke of Genius seem to have it down musically, but their online band presence as well as profiles on various musical forums could way stronger. The band does have a Facebook page however it doesn’t seem to have been updated recently. They are however very diligent about having their music available to fans online, and I was able to get a good sampling of what they are all about.

A strong, loud and typically metal vocal gives this band the edge they are after. The mix of singing with the traditional metal roar adds another dimension to the sound – as in the song Along My Way. Carried by a powerful double kick and distortion on the guitars, the tempo of the songs is fast, upbeat and melodic.
