Originally started in Serbia in 2009 as a cover band, Keychain is a band with a long, international history. In it’s current formation, the band has been playing together and performing their original music since just this year. Their music is heavily influenced by the band they started out covering, with added elements and twists that allow them to stand apart and make a name for themselves. They are now looking at expanding their horizons on the live music scene, and to that end have enrolled in the Emergenza Music Festival, for the opportunity to showcase their music at some of Montreal’s top venues. This international showcase will allow them to play their music in front a varied, large audience.
True masters of capitalizing on internet promotion of their band, the men of Keychain have worked hard at making sure their sound is being heard across cyberspace. Their single Empty Space has an official music video which can be viewed on their band page on one of the many social media forums. In addition, they have been working closely with various media i.e. magazines and local, ethnic programs to further promote their band and music. All their efforts appear to be paying off, given their apparent online popularity. They’ve already released a single and are currently working on a full length album. A good accomplishment for an up & coming band who is relatively new.
The band’s single, Empty Space is not only a great stand-alone tune, but is made even better by the fact that the band has taken the time to record a music video to accompany it. The video portrays the musicians, each focused on his own instrument and allows the viewer to get a rare peak at how the song would have come together musically. The passion of each musician is visible as they pour their hearts into playing their instrument and the singer’s vocal is equally powerful throughout the song. Great guitar riffs and a strong drum & bass section make for an excellent canvass for their superb songwriting and vocals.
