It at the more interesting an artist’s background and life story is the more powerful and special their music becomes. We all know music can be healing so it’s only natural that one’s past experience creep into their music. In the case of Suela, her past experiences have contributed to rendering her music and songwriting full of emotion, but also uplifting messages. This ability to approach music in different ways and convey a variety of messages has contributed to Suela’s success thus far and along with her melodic voice appears to be what keeps the fans coming back.
This talented vocalist and artist has performed a number of live shows across Montreal and continues her work on her music as well as on her concert schedule. With one EP under her belt, she is currently working on a second which she will be releasing shortly. In the meantime, she is busy promoting the album with live radio appearances and performances on Montreal’s local/emerging artist scene. Right now, Suela’s music is available on iTunes, Amazon and other popular online music outelts.
Suela’s voice is extremely well polished and she has a very wide vocal range. Listening to her songs, I felt like I was in a theater listening to the music of a great musical. This impression is further enhanced by the presence of instruments and the overall wistful and slightly melancholy tone of the music. 03 401 is the song where this came across most strongly for me. Other pieces, like Play the Game on the other hand, with the stronger electronic beats, make an all together different impression – more upbeat and energetic.
