With over 100 shows under their belt in just about a year, Three of Us is one of the most well played bands I have encountered in some time. They have discovered what I wish all local, up & coming bands would realize – while recording music is great, playing live shows is how you get enough of a following, so when you have you records, there’s someone out there who will want to buy it! These guys have played live shows all over the city of Montreal but have not stopped there, with shows in the entire surrounding are and reaching as far as New Brunswick.
The fun, upbeat and classic rock’n’roll sound put forth by Three of Us is just one of the reasons why they have managed to be able to book so many shows for their band, and why the shows are so well attended. They’ve also got an impressive 2,500 followers on their band’s Facebook profile. In a cause and effect type situation, the shows they’ve played have generated them a wide fan base and the fan base demand has allowed them to play more and more shows. Seems like a simple formula for emerging bands to follow. A lot of hard work, determination and crowd-pleasing music has been their recipe for success.
As the name suggests, three musicians make up this Montreal band. Three musicians who are still young, but whose music appears to speak across generations. Their classic sound is not only easy to listen to but also very commercial, which accounts for at least part of their success. Combining their guitar solos with powerful drum rhythms and a bass sound which hits the right note every time, the music comes off polished and radio-ready. Equally perfected are their live performances which engage the crowd and keep them coming back. The trailer for Out of Control is a good sample of their music, and left me wishing I could get my hands on a copy of the whole thing.
