Extrapol brings classic Québec rock to the stage, and extrapolates to new heights.

Some ‘native’ sounds and good beats make for a lively show and great music and solid songwriting.

As the name suggest, these four musicians have taken a music genre, as well as trends in music from various decades and extrapolated them into this decade, and drawn them to the limits of their definition. These guys are very talented musicians, and embody everything the classic Québec rock band represents – excellent songwriting, strong guitar riffs and piercing drum beats. They have played a number of shows and events across Quebec and are now in talk to take part in the 2013 edition of the Emergenza Music Festival.

The band, origination from a small town in Quebec has recently relocated to Montreal, feeling that this is where they needed to be to fully enter and penetrate the local music scene. As a band with French lyrics they are more unique then others as most musicians chose to sing in English. Since their move to the big city, Extrapol has already had significant success in various battle of the bands events as well as shows they’ve put on on their own.  Their recent introduction to the Montreal scene makes local band events even more important to them, as they need to grow their fan base as much as possible.

On their band website, you can listen to a few of their songs. Something I strongly encourage all bands to have, since giving fans one-step access to all of your media is the best way to guarantee they will listen. While the song Bestial really gives the singer an opportunity to explore his vocal range, my personal fav is Je Me Hais. There is something about the flow, the vocal and the instrumental background of this song that I find very authentic of the francophone music in Quebec. I thoroughly enjoyed the music and look forward to seeing them live.
