Gracing the stage at Montreal’s O Patros Vys on November 24th will be the artistic singer/songwriter Callia Bara. The talented, versatile young woman will be going on at 8pm to open up the second round of eliminatory shows for the Emergenza Music Festival. In an event where bands are the norm, having a female solo artist should make for an interesting addition to the evening.
Callia has also been featured as the female vocalist on other artists’ pieces which ahs given her the opportunity to experiment with different styles and methods. Callia’s musical profile has a great online presence and she can be found on every major band and music form. It was in fact very easy to learn about this artist and her career. A very positive thing for any emerging artist who wants to have their name known and recognized.
In the style of Madonna and other contemporary female vocalists, Callia’s vocals are incorporated into an interesting mix of electronic and instrumental sounds. The One is a perfect example of this reflection. It showcases her vocal talents as well as her ability to compose and put together captivating musical sounds – electronic or otherwise. Visuals play an important role in CALLIA's performance, in harmony with the music. This is clear when watching her YouTube videos and it will be very interesting to see how this up & coming artist incorporate this into a live show.
