One of the greatest treats in attending a show in a city or country where a different language is spoken, and actually hearing songs in that language. Everyone sings in English, yet Origine, have stayed true to their culture and environment and sing in French. Good for you guys! Undoubtedly the crowds appreciate this as well, and they’ve been rewarded with a spot in Emergenza Festival’s quarter final round in Montreal. Their excellent songwriting as well as musical arrangements are by no means second in this decision – an important step for any emerging band.
While their name posted me a slight challenge when trying to find them online, once I happened upon one page, I found that their band has a strong online presence everywhere! The band’s social media pages as well put together and managed and they are smart enough to place just excerpts of their songs online, creating a demand for the purchase of their music via various online music media. Often up & coming bands don’t know how to navigate the complex channels of online music selling, but they seem to have sorted it out just fine.
Their band name seems to match their folksy/rock music style very well. Translating to simply mean ‘origin’ (DUH!) it’s exactly what I would expect to hear from a band whose music style description also includes the word ‘Québécois’. These four young men from the Montreal area are talented musicians who put have come together and composed music with a strong rhythm section, great guitar solos and a vocal which fits the style perfectly. Demain Matin showcases some of the band’s strengths like their musical harmonies & melodic instrumental interludes. Looking forward to seeing them in the quarter final round!
