This talented young woman from Montreal, a born musician Maria-T’s sound is instantly likable. A fantastic mix of styles from the 80’s, 90’s and today, Maria’s fusion of the rock genre is flawless. Like Mariah Carey and other famous female vocalists, Maria’s voice hits notes that not many can emulate. Accompanied by a mix of electronic and classic rock sounds, the music transcends genres and time.

In addition to her music, Maria-T also has a good handle on promoting her music.  On her website is a sampling of her music, excerpts from her songs give the listener an idea of what her style is all about. A promotional tool I think many up & coming bands could benefit from and should employ. Her performance during the final round of the Emergenza Festival left nothing to be desired as she wowed the crowd and judges alike.

Right by your side appears to represent Maria-T’s iconic style very effectively. The song starts out with gentle sounds from the keyboard that leave you expecting a ballad, yet when she launches into her vocal the music picks up and the song becomes a powerful fast paced piece. Her songwriting and arrangements are very accomplished for a relatively young artist and her live performance is equally admirable.
