Very often, a battle of the bands will brings together genres of music that don’t often cross paths. The sounds of Terror Starts in Closets is a prime example of this. It’s also a great reason to attend and take part in this type of music contests.  Someone whose tastes lean more to the mainstream may never be exposed to this genre, and yet might find themselves appreciating it just the same, once they find themselves in the same room.

I was intrigued by the title 33 Reasons to Surpass God, but I didn’t find out what they are as much of the lyrics are pretty hard to decipher… now I understand that it comes with the territory, but still. So, while I would just as well mute the vocal on this piece, the instrumental portion is something I can see listening to when I need a kick in the butt… ie. at the gym. These boys are clearly talented musicians who have found the genre of music that best allows them to express their inner selves. And what is music if not just that?
