As far as Alternative Rock bands go, we’ve all heard our share. At hearing Stock Tone System’s rendition of the genre, one might be surprised. What is not surprising is that they landed in the final showcase of the Emergenza Music Festival at L’Olympia this past June.

Their sound is commercial, widely appealing, exactly what you would expect a crowd coming to see a mixed genre evening to appreciate and reward. In a style popularized in the mid 90’s, Stock Tone System brings together melodies, emotion and some darn good song writing. I was instantly taken by the melody of the intro to All Eyes On You.

The lyrics depict the classic struggle of man and woman, and just when you’ve heard enough, the guitar solos cut in to give you a moment of respite, to consider what you’ve just heard. With a long history and diverse backgrounds, the boys that make up Stock Tone System have managed to find their niche in a well established genre.
