Second Sunday started up in 2004 but in no way has the material been recently written. Singer/guitarist Michael Robertson has been writing songs for this project since the 90’s and the band has gone through many members as well as names including Severance and Crashbox. In 2003, Michael Robertson got his cousin, singer/guitarist Steve Haase, to join in on the fun. They auditioned many musicians until finally finding bassist Timmy 2 Toes Thomas and drummer Alex Vaughn. Not long after they joined, the band found that the name Crashbox was already registered by a similar rock band out of New York. They shortly changed the name to Second Sunday and a second chance for a new beginning arose.
If you know your rock music and have heard any of Second Sunday’s songs, you should already know that the band’s music is influenced by Creed, Nickleback, Fuel, and even a bit of Alice and Chains just to name a few. The band’s hard driven guitars, melodic bass lines, heart pounding drums, and harmonized vocals are part of an equation that equals the latest installment in the evolution of rock music.
