Southern Hard Rock from the South of Italy: WhiskeyCold Winter

It’s straight up Southern hard rock and roll on the new release ‘Demons Vol. II’ from WhiskeyCold Winter

The music of this southern hard rock band from Napoli will warm you to the bones like a shot of whiskey on a cold winter day—fittingly, they call themselves just that—WhiskeyCold Winter. These guys may be from Napoli, but their hearts are in the deep South of the good ol’ U.S. of A. Just check out the band’s 2013 self-produced EP Demons vol. II on their Soundcloud page to hear for yourself. They go from post-grunge fused with backwater southern swamp rock and roll as in the opening track “Fishman Child”—all about staying in touch with your roots and being proud of where you come from—to the straight up wailing guitars and screaming Southern stoner rock of “Thunderpussy”. One thing’s for sure: there’s definitely no shortage of kickass guitar solos on the album. Riffs galore, gut wrenching vocals, and a solid rhythm section, Demons vol. II is a really promising release and definitely fit for any true lover of Southern hard rock. After a few bumps along the lineup road lead guitarist Pietro Trinità La Tegola and drummer Antonio "Paperino" Papavero are added to the original core members Simone Pennucci on lead guitar and vox and Emanuele Musella on bass and vocals to form the current lineup. The guys in WhiskeyCold Winter have kept up an intense live schedule over the last few years and just recently rocked the stage at Duel Beat in Naples for the finals of Emergenza Festival Italia. Tune into Emergenza.net for more news on the high energy, soulful southern hard rock tunes of WhiskeyCold Winter.
