    Out Now 'Castle Square' EP

High energy, gritty overdrive, and a new EP all from Turin band Castle Square

Emerging from Superbudda studio in Turin with axes bloodied, the band Castle Square has just come out with their debut, self-titled EP. With English lyrics leaning toward the macabre, dark twisted guitar tone, and the ever-present whoa-oh-oh punk chorus’, the album is a respectful homage to the 80’s underground. Founding members bassist and guitarist Gianluca Gaidano and Giorgio Rosa are joined by Lorenzo Silengo on guitar, Moratti Simone on drums, and Lorenzo Martire on vocals. On the album the ruthless guitar shredding, distorted punk tones and anthem style chorus’ are contrasted with touches of glam showered like bits of sequence. There are a few softer moments that shine through, like in the song “Comedy”, which starts off in a jazzy acoustic guitar progression, accented by sweet sounding lead guitar and a vocal melody that’s a perfect cross between Brit-pop and pop-punk. Then the album zooms right back into action with the super glam “Beheaded Jack”, which will have you chanting along from the very first listen. All songs can be streamed from both the band's Facebook and Soundcloud pages. Make sure to give the songs a good listen while you’re getting pumped up for their next gig. Castle Square has just made it through the semifinals of the Emergenza Festival Italia and are now getting geared up to hit the stage for the regional finals at the prestigious Hiroshima Mon Amour in Turin. You’ll want to be there when it all goes down, so stick around for more details at Emergenza.net.
