Devilish New Tunes from Next Level

Milan band Next Level radically switched up the lineup of the band and have just unleashed their latest EP entitled 'Il Tuo Diavolo'

Since their debut release Dalla Dalla in 2009, the founder of Next Level decided to radically change the line up of the band. Desiring a more in-your-face energy he brought on brothers Marco and Gage Messina on drums and guitar. Then with the addition of bassist Ste Vallone and guitarist Jeky Castelli the line up was solidified. Finally lead singer Tony Ussia had the chemistry he was looking for to inspire the best song writing of his career so far. The brand new line up ushers in immediate success with a single the band originally started as a joke "Juve Eroi Bianconeri" (“Juventus heroes”)—dedicated to fans of the infamous Turin soccer team. On the heels of that success the band decided to follow up with an EP. The new record entitled Il Tuo Diavolo makes it clear that Next Level are ready to be taken seriously. Songs like “Frenesia” showcase the band’s confident energy in song writing. They incorporate punk-infused guitar tone—reminiscent of bands like the Offspring—coupled with high-power riffs and the vocals to back them up. Campiness takes the edge off some of their songs, like in “Sono il tuo Diavolo” (“I’m Your Devil”), which starts out with hysteric, diabolical laughter and wails into a late-Alice Cooper-meets-Black Sabbath groove. Solid rhythm section and killer lead guitar from the first to the last song. The EP was produced by Brace Productions. These guys have been on the gig circuit all throughout Lombardy rocking their latest tunes, and they just stopped off at The Speakeasy in Milan for round one of Emergenza Festival Italia, where they swiped enough votes to get them to the semifinals. Check back in with us at Emergenza.net for more details on their upcoming show. You won't want to miss the high energy performance of Next Level.
