Sneak Peak at the Upcoming Release by Rock Band GRACE

Padua band GRACE gives Emergenza exclusive access to their upcoming album still in the works

While Padua band GRACE is in the process of laying down the final mix on their upcoming album they give Emergenza exclusive access to their six-song demo. The band puts their focus on using live analog recordings to capture the true feel of the music on this totally self-produced album. Their name may be a tribute to the album by Jeff Buckley, but this band takes their musical inspirations from more hard rock sources. Self-described as a crossover between rock, blues, hard rock, pop, and metal, there’s truly something for any rock lover on this album. While the two guitarists battle it out in a classic blues rock versus new metal and post grunge fight, you can hear distinct influences of Eddie Vedder in the vocal styling. The song “Piove” is the perfect example of this. The initial feedback sets the in-your-face tone to the song, carried through by the classic 80’s metal licks on guitar; there’s a low-key interlude featuring the sound of real rain; and then the super pumped up chorus section comes full on with post grunge vocal bravado. The lyrics take full focus in their music, like in the heartfelt “Battito d'Ali”, which talks about maintaining purity of soul in a disappointing real-world—“I live in a dream, so that I can keep my white wings clean…”. All lyrics are originally in Italian. GRACE is: Simon Bega on vocals, David Pelà and Stefano Sottovia on guitar, Emanuel Panin on drums, and Federico Andreotti on bass. You’re going to have to wait until you can get your hands on a copy of the new album. But, be sure to check out their live show in the meantime. If their demo is any sign, GRACE is guaranteed to put on a killer live show at The Factory in Padua for the Emergenza Festival Italia. Don’t miss out. And tune in to Emergenza.net for more details.
