The Truly Inspired Rock and Roll of Manuele and His Combo

Manuele and His Combo have released their debut album entitled Rock and Roll, chock full of rockabilly rhythms, crooning vocals, and slide guitar

Recorded at Crazy for Sound near Verona, the title of the latest album Rock and Roll by Manuele and His Combo says it all. Pure old school rock and roll. It’s actually the culmination of over 20 years of experience playing rock and roll—and we’re talking high level when it comes to the musicianship in this band. We’ve got the principal songwriter Manuel Bonino on guitar and vocals, who takes his musical inspiration from guys like Chuck Berry, The Stray Cats, and Buddy Holly, and puts it together with his immense experience playing alongside expert blues musicians to come up with the high quality, original arrangements on the album. On drums, we’ve got Lele “The Gem” Zamperini. They call him a war machine because he can keep a beat like no other, and can’t even keep track of all the great musicians he’s played with over his long career in blues, jazz, rock and country music. And then there’s Maurizio Lazzarini on the bass, who brings his expertise in pop, country, jazz, and rock. Together they snap out a rockin' mix of rockabilly, old time country western swing and blues, as if there wasn't anything easier. Despite the fact that it was their first time in the recording studio together and there was very little time to get the whole thing wrapped up, you can hear nothing but the band’s complete expertise on their instruments and a total mastery of their genre. Out of the nine songs on the album, eight are originals. The one cover on the album is their country music take on Muddy Waters’ original song "Can't be Satisfied". The slide guitar on this song alone speaks for the incredible musicianship on the whole album. They just played a rockin’ set at Latte + in Brescia for Emergenza Festival Italia. Stay tuned to see if they’ve made it to the net round. You won’t want to miss seeing the live show by Manuel and His Combo.
