The Outsiders take their name from a song by Italian band The Sun and consider themselves outcasts from the norm. But the truth is, they are very much inside the music world. Made up of four somewhat musical prodigies—all completing their musical studies at conservatories around Italy—the musicians in the Outsiders have a really precise sound, inspired by Ligabue and The Sun, as well as other major players in the Italian pop rock scene. They’ve all studied the classics but still know how to rock. They’ve only been together for about a year, but their combined talents have produced an undeniable chemistry, which they say forced them to hit the stage and the studio right away to pursue the Outsiders project. The first task in the studio was their debut single “Alibi” which starts off with warm, pop punk inspired electric guitar, harkening to bands like Greenday, with the occasional squeal of feedback. The female vocal harmonies add an ethereal quality while the super funky bass spices things up. Just recently they released a follow up single “Vibrazioni Instabili”, which features the vocal talents of the female singer. This one takes on a sort of battle to the end vibe with raging, fuzzed out guitars and powerful drumming. Both of the songs come off of their debut self-titled EP, recorded at 33 Giri Studios in Fossò, and just recently released. Go to the band's website to get a sneak peak of the album. They just played an insane set of songs from the new album on stage at The Factory in Padua. Stay in tuned to Emergenza.net to find out if they’ve made it through to the next round!
