923 was the number, and it was a destiny’s forerunner. Some years ago, we were happy with our achievements, everything was fine, but there was something missing… we wanted to explore the States, the mythical land where rock’n’roll music was born, where musicians travel in vans across deserts and neverending dusty roads… But we lacked courage. We needed a sign. So we choose a number that since then would be our magical number. That’s it. We decided that when we would manage to organize and perform 923 live concerts in one year, that would be the right time to go, to start our Big Trip. The time came two years ago, but you are never ready for something like this, you can never know… so, when we discovered that our U.S. toll free would be 1-888-923-band, just try to imagine our faces…. No doubt, it had to be a destiny’s forerunner. Our Star and Stripes adventure would be great. And it is. We were waiting for 500 american bands to play at Emergenza Festival, but today, after just one month since the enrolment has begun, the ones who have registered are more than 1000, and their number is increasing day by day! It is an achievement that goes beyond our brightest expectations, and that testify not only that American up & coming bands are more and more willing to getting the chance to play live, but also that Emergenza is regarded to be a reliable and powerful organization. Our staff is currently carrying out the first meetings with the bands to set the concert dates, and is proud to see how enthusiastic are the musicians who enrol to the Festival. It appears to be that every unsigned band was waiting for Emergenza to provide the chance to perform live. The selected Venues, where Emergenza Festival will be held this year, are like a dream for every young musician: Paradise Rock and Avalon in Boston, Double Door and the Metro in Chicago, Theatre of the Living Art and North by North East in Philadelphia, Nation and Five in Washington, just to mention a few. Up to this point, we have to book many other nights to please all our enrolled musicians! Our bands are understanding the qualities that make Emergenza so different from the other musical contests: here, all the bands who enrol get the chance to play live, at least once (no pre-selection), in famous clubs; all the musicians have the opportunity to win one of our prizes, not only the ones of the bands who win the night contest. In addition to this, the possibility of gaining top-quality instruments and gear, of being included in a compilation, of being spotted by a major music company, and, above all, of playing again in more and more live concert, which is what a band wants above all. Without mentioning the chance of playing and making a name in Europe, a land that is always open and curious towards good musical novelties coming from America. So, after twelve years of activity throughout Europe and Canada, Emergenza Festival has set a great kick in the US, confirming that at the moment is the most acclaimed and biggest festival for unsigned bands in the world… and this is just the beginning.
