Sweet Sleep, their interview.

Japanese band is preparing to Taubertal Open Air Festival!

You have participated in the Emergenza Festival Edition 2015/2016. What made you decide to take part in it?
Underground music is not popular in Japan, so we wanted to spread music like our band and let people be interested in it through the competition.

As you approach the world final, what is your state of mind?
Frankly we're very happy. The band is finally on the start line.

What is your best memory from your Emergenza experience?
Some of us drank too much at night of the Japan final, so the next day they had a terrible hangover.

What's behind your band's name? Any specific meaning?
It comes from the band "Sleep", and also it has a nice ring to it.

If you had to choose a famous song that represents your band....which one would it be?
Our entire show is one set of our songs, so we would like everyone to come see it

Can you tell us a funny story or anecdote about your experience on stage? And one which happened in backstage or during the preparation of a show?
At the result announcement of the Japan semi final, most of our audience had already left the club so there were few people who were pleased with the win.

How would you describe your music?
Static and dynamic, progressive metal of the dark concept.

Before you go on stage, do you have a ritual or a good luck charm that goes everywhere with you?
Everytime our guitarist Ikki makes sure he goes to the bathroom before gigs.

What is your dream gig?
We want to performance in a huge venue and let many people see our concept.

What can audiences expect from one of your live performances?
They can enjoy feeling depressing.

If you could invite a band or an artist at your party, dead or alive, who would it be?
Tool.

What are your short to medium term plans after the international final?
We're in a recording session now, so we have to finish it and play gigs more than ever.

What inspires you when you are composing (musical inspirations or others)?
Our composer Ikki is inspired by many songs and japanese films

What question did I forget?
Please let us play gigs in Germany again because we want to be a world-class band.

Why do you think you deserve to win the 2016 Festival edition?
We have an unique concept which any others bands don't have and will make people at the festival fascinated
