You have participated in the Emergenza Festival Edition 2015/2016. What made you decide to take part in it?
The music market in Poland and in Europe is flooded with bands and artists and it's hard to get noticed. You need to know certain people or be lucky to succeed. The Emergenza Festival addresses bands that don't have a record deal and as we are a relatively young project we decided to take part in it and it apparently brought results as we're going to finals in Taubertal.
As you approach the world final, what is your state of mind?
There are many festivals and talent shows that are larger or smaller but from our observation Emergenza festival represents a very high standard and as we set our goal to operate at the highest possible level with the best and the Emergenza festival is an international festival, we hope it'll allow us to exist not only in our own country.
What is your best memory from your Emergenza experience?
Each stage was a great experience. Certainly, the greatest thing was that you couldn't feel any rivalry and envy between bands taking part in the festival. Mutual support and other participants congratulating us on the winning remains in us and we are grateful for that. We have established new friendships and strengthened ties with old friends.
What's behind your band's name? Any specific meaning?
Antiplan is a name that reflects us and our way of life: not to go with the flow and follow the stereotypes but to seek your own path and to live according to your own tastes.
If you had to choose a famous song that represents your band...which one would it be?
We think that "You've Got to Take It (G.T.I)" reflects our sound the most and our vision of R'n'R.
Can you tell us a funny story or anecdote about your experience on stage? And one which happened in backstage or during the preparation of a show ?
Certainly one of the funniest situation on stage happened during local semifinals we had some three more minutes left and Kryha (lead singer) said he had always wanted to dance ballet on stage and gracefully performed a beautiful neanderthal dance. We were taken by surprise but the audience was delighted. Another funny moment happened backstage. A moment before hitting the stage our guitarist had disappeared and no one was able to find him. It turned out that hid in a dark corner to meditate and didn't react to all the fuss the search for him generated.
How would you describe your music ?
Our music is a mixture of our music tastes, each of us gives their 25% of the sound and character, which results in our individual stoner R'n'R.
Before you go on stage, do you have a ritual or a good luck charm that goes everywhere with you?
We try to support each other and wind up with positive energy because that's the attitude we take on stage. It reflects the quality and character of our performance.
What is your dream gig?
At this stage of our career for sure this one because this is the biggest gig we've ever played. Then there is only Wembley and Carnegie Hall.
What can audiences expect from one of your live performances?
Pure positive energy because we always give 100% on stage and R'n'R is our religion.
If you could invite a band or an artist at your party, dead or alive, who would it be?
Definitely Foo Fighters. We respect them for creativity and the sense of humour, their musical honesty and sincerity and for openness and respect for the audience.
What are your short to medium term plans after the international final?
At this stage Emergenza has given us a lot thanks to winning in our country. We're becoming more recognizable and opportunities of recording our debut album are starting to emerge. This is what we want to focus on after the international finals.
What inspires you when you are composing (musical inspirations or others) ?
Generally, we all listen to similar music but also enjoy totally different sounds, which Antiplan is a result of.
What question did I forget?
And that's a good question :) We'll leave you with this :)
Why do you think you deserve to win the 2016 Festival edition?
At this stage every band deserves to win because everyone is strong and good. In the end every artist has won the finals in their country. Only the honesty and heart invested in music can indicate the best, we are like that. Through happiness and work people get richer :) as a proverb says in Polish.
