Tri Hidden Panic, their interview.

The french band is preparing to Taubertal Open Air Festival!

You have participated in the Emergenza Festival Edition 2015/2016. What made you decide to take part in it?
One of our friends told us about Emergenza last year, and Clemence decided to run a simulation, to know how things worked. But she unintentionally registered us. When we received a call, saying that we were registered, we happily took part of the Festival.

As you approach the world final, what is your state of mind?
We’re very happy to be part of the international final, but we’re also motivated and really stressed.

What is your best memory from your Emergenza experience?
The national final was the best memory of all. First because of the crowd but also because of the jury and Emergenza’s staff who were all kind and touching. It was also very emotional.

What's behind your band's name? Any specific meaning?
Our band’s name is a bit complicated but we wanted it that way. First we have the “Tri-“ that is an echo for the word “triangle” and because we didn’t want to use the word “Three”, then “Hidden” which is a reference to our previous name “The Hidden Comics”. Lastly “Panic” represents the fears and doubt we all have to face at one time or another.

If you had to choose a famous song that represents your band...which one would it be?
It would be Kitchen Sink from Twenty One Pilots, because of the music, the lyrics and the rhythm of the song, that can be really smooth, but is also a sort of cry for help.

Can you tell us a funny story or anecdote about your experience on stage? And one which happened in backstage or during the preparation of a show?
When we played the quarter final, at a moment, in a song , Clemence says something to the crowd, but things didn’t go as planned and the sentence she said had an unintentional sexual meaning. Even if we knew she made a mistake, we did like nothing happened. Another thing happened before the final, 5 minutes before the show. The Megaphone we use in one of our song stopped working, and we realized it only because one of the members of the staff wanted to play with it. When we did the show, we gave it to Hugo (the Drummer) that pretended to sing with it, while Clémence sang the part.

How would you describe your music?
This is one of the trickiest questions, because even if we asked our public, they couldn’t put a name on our genre. We call it Pop Rock Alternative, because we use a lot of electronic sounds, as well as a bass and a drum. Sometimes we also use a guitar, but our songs reflect particularly our different influences more than a precise genre. To sum up, we do our music, in our way, and we don’t try to target a special type of public.

Before you go on stage, do you have a ritual or a good luck charm that goes everywhere with you?
We don’t have a special ritual yet. But Corentin (the bassist) always wears a special pair a shoes (that he uses only for the gigs).

What is your dream gig?
Our dream gig would be in the Madison Square Garden.

What can audiences expect from one of your live performances?
They can expect to see passion, motivation, energy, and also to be surprised by our genre (in a good way we hope).

If you could invite a band or an artist at your party, dead or alive, who would it be?
It would be Twenty One Pilots.

What inspires you when you are composing (musical inspirations or others)?
The two main inspirations we have are our experiences (and how we want to share them) and the songs we like (and how we can honor it in our own way).

What question did I forget?
Maybe: Do you have a Headquarter? And the answer is yes : it is Corentin’s car.

Why do you think you deserve to win the 2016 Festival edition?
We don’t really think we can win, but we want to play it like it’s our last gig, and we want to share our passion, if we do so, we will be satisfied.
