EMERGENZA INTERNATIONAL FINAL

DAY 2

PARK AVENUE Opening for a long run of bands is never easy, but the Italians did it, and left a great impression. Park Avenue from Novara did not disappoint bringing on stage a brit-pop with hard tones and sounds, perhaps not best evidenced in their ballads, but an impressionable performance regardless. Clean and precise. THE 101’S A seventeen year old, somewhat frazzled, with a punk voice of a forty year old. A great explosion on stage. Three chords and let loose the guitars! Playing on the standards of high impacting punk rock, on which, given the age of the musicians some work is needed. 101 from Tilburg however, believe in it to the core. THALAMUS Rock-metal of a different level. Practical, strong and raw. The Stockholm quartet managed to bring attention to the stage with their fully charged show. A cross between Led Zep and Early Soundgarden... a true slice of 70s rock with a tight rhythm section and an amazing singer with lungs the size of Sweden... simply great. 4TH STREET TRAFFIC “More States than Great Britain” for this Welsh 4 piece. A perfect blend of pop-rock with impeccable harmonies. Heavy drum sounds with great tunes. A lethal combination that works every time. These guys went to the “Stereophonics school of rock” passing through a look that reminded us of My Chemichal Romance. A great and very convincing pop-rock band. FIRE FLIES Simply magnificent. A super-fun set like it was supposed to be played. A fun approach that made every single person dance in front of the stage. A powerful sound with great melodies and solid structures. Intelligent arrangements for intelligent people. This sound doesn’t need any “pidgeon-holing”. Was is folk? Was it rock? Was is funk?... NO, it was simply magnificent! We love New York!! THE JERKS Alternative punk rock so dirty that even a good scrub couldn’t clean…..simple as that. A power trio that played their cards right. A bomb ready to go off at any time... good riffs, good energy, good god! LA TÊTE AILLEURS A band rooted in folk sounds. Reminiscent of Manu Chao and Louis Attaque. An incredible performance that involved every single person... whistling, dancing and clapping hands with every beat. An enjoyable rollercoaster ride of emotions. Simply one of the best party bands seen around the last few years. Brilliant! MCGOOZER An emotional moment for us as soon as they struck the first chord…. This 8 piece blended a string section with pop melodies so well that made us cry with happiness. The vocalist sang like an angel and the strong backing vocal complimented the very solid band. The sun was shining the crowd was singing and the hair on the back of our necks are still standing... a pure joy. FURYKANE A powerful set! An impressing nu-metal rock from this French band that had no fear to scream. They made us move our heads following a strong rythmic section. They managed the stage like old professional musicians. Simply magnificent... and hard! A cross between Korn and Guano Apes.
