NASHVILLE, THE MUSIC CAPITAL OF AMERICA,

LIVES UP TO ITS REPUTATION ONCE AGAIN!

Saturday, June 23rd brought a plethora of musical genius to Nashville. 14 bands highlighted the night at the prestigious City Hall, throwing their hearts and souls onto the stage for the entire crowd. Pathos kicked off the night with a singer that captivated the entire room. Her spookily soothing vocals kept me in a trance throughout the set. With a bass player, guitarist and drummer that definitely showed the room that the first bands up are not disappointments, this band delighted me, and the rest of the crowd. August Ending took their turn, and added a bit more of a hard rock feel to the atmosphere. Their energy captivated the every one, while their powerful rhythmic riffs, backed by the thunder of double bass, rand through the rafters and out onto the streets. Press was a band that every person in the room enjoyed listening to. Their collaboration of backing female vocals and strong male lead vocals, absolutely beautiful piano, guitar, bass, drums, and the most impacting lyrics I’ve heard in a while, led to such a wonderful and powerful set by these guys. Chad Harris brought a touching blast of vocals. They slowed down the show pace wise, and gave everyone a chance to cool off a bit. Though the vocals were sort of eerie in a touching way, nothing about them scared the crowd. I enjoyed them completely. Beyond Me, traveling all the way from Birmingham, Al, were the first band of the night to represent the more upbeat of the rock genre. Standing on risers while double bass beats blasted their way out to the entire room, the guitarists backed each other with solos, riffs, and chords that harmonized very well. With one of the best vocalists I’ve heard in a long while, Beyond Me got people to their feet, jingling keys, and chanting their lyrics through their entire set. Craigside was another band that differentiated from most of the others on the bill. With more of an up tempo, power pop sound, they definitely held interest with musicians and fans alike. I found myself nearly hypnotized while I watched and listened to the progressive sound of this band. The room seemed to agree with me on this. The Evaro Complex was nothing short of amazing. Though these guys are young, their age holds nothing to their talent. Fronted by an extremely keyboardist/acoustic guitarist, and deleting guitars to be replaced by thumping and extremely pleasant bass, these guys had a buzz about them the entire night. I won’t deny that I did not expect the sound that came from this three piece band. The drummer, who took home the prize for best drummer of the night, kept rhythm nearly perfectly through their amazing performance. Upside of Envy, fronted by a beautiful and extremely talented blonde bombshell, had stage presence down. Never hesitating to incorporate the crowd into their set, these talented musicians had hands in the air through the entire venue. Dancing was a hard thing not to do while watching this talented group of people. Methods of Maddness took the stage strongly, fronted by yet another female vocalist. This three piece band was nothing to be underestimated. They used thumping bass licks that had heads nodding and arms moving all around… while also earning the win for best bassist of the night. Such a strong and captivating voice from the lead singer and complex techniques from the drummer, all had a hand in making this band’s set something not to be over looked by anyone. November was next to showcase their skills. They incorporated big riffs and massive melodies into their music so very well that I found myself humming their music to myself after they were finished. Their set was enjoyed by everyone in the house. Tropic Culture, all the way from Charlotte, stormed the stage with what promised to be an amazing presence. This 8 piece Latin pop band used a violin, trumpet, congas, and a list of other instruments to literally have the entire<
