2007 EMERGENZA NYC NATIONAL FINAL AT WEBSTER HALL!
New york has had many awesome shows this season but none that could possibly compare to the finals at Webster Hall. One of the most beautiful venues in the city, Webster Hall was the place to be this past weekend for non stop rock and roll.
Thursday nights runner up show started off in true fashion, with the presence of Comandante Zero. This two piece tore through a killer set of not only original, but also truly unique music.
Sinking North followed, and they played a strait up set of Rock and Roll, you could just feel the energy flowing from the stage.
Apostles followed them and took the night into a new direction with a blend of funk and hip-hop that was all there own.
Evan Kremin took the stage next, and in true form showed the crowd what it’s all about and how to be a true rock star. Then came the Dudes of Doom. What else can be said that is not conveyed in the name? These guys are always just so much fun to see. With their thrashing songs and hysterical lyrics it was no show to be missed. Randy Niles followed, and treated the crowd to his unique blend of pop and blues. He just let threw it all down on the table, and believe me the crowd was feeling it. Empathy took it from there, and just destroyed their set. There was so much energy coming off of the stage at that point it was unreal.
hen came H.A.T.E. These guys were out of control. They took all that energy and just ran with it. It must have come from somewhere deep inside, because these guys played as if there was no tomorrow, and for all they cared there wasn''t.
The Thoughts That Kill followed and like true professionals they played an awesome set of their own tunes that kept everyone on their toes and rocking.
Grunes Herz wrapped up the night, and they did it well. These Russian rockers finished off the night with such energy, that no one wanted to go home. They just screamed for more and more.
Friday night kept the finals rockin at Webster Hall with R.A.D. starting the night out. These youngsters put on an amazingly energetic set with their ska fueled pop tunes.
The Lovely Heather Park serenaded the crowd with her amazing voice and soulful songs. A great lot of musicians in that band.
Randy Niles treated us to his pop/blues songs again this night and the crowd reaction was just as good as the night before. Great job Randy.
The amount of energy exerted by N.A.S.H. was unreal. This power trio has one of the best and most exciting live shows around. These guys played really tight and the crowd went ballistic for them.
The next band was Veinmelter. These guys had a style all of their own. Great bass lines and trancy guitar lines made for a unique sound the whole crowd loved. Nineveh Road rocked out next and everyone was in amazement of the singer’s voice. These veterans had their game together. All their songs were just full of soul and great hooks.
A Few Too Many wowed the crowd with their great talent for songwriting despite their very green age. Great song arrangements and stage presence made for a very entertaining set to say the least.
Pelagia took the stage next and the place went completely nuts for these Jersey boys. Their stage presence is just as great as their ability to write great rock tunes. Great job fellows.
The Philadelphia finalists, Mountain Man, played next to a crowd not expecting the music they received. Everyone was thrilled to hear a unique blend of bluegrass, blues, rock, and pop. They are truly a unique band with an equally unique sound. Kudos boys.
Mystic Union took the stage next and treated us to a brand of hard rock not seen by most. These guys had an interesting set of hard rock backed up by congas and eerie sounding chimes. Very cool stuff.
Jonestown rocked the stage next with a set of straight forward rock n roll with great energy an
