Atlanta Hosted Semi-Final Shows at The Loft



The Atlanta Semi Final shows in Atlanta this past weekend were a blast! With many of the metro-area bands bringing good music, vibes and crowds The Loft on W. Peachtree Street was bumpin’! The Loft has been a long time partner of Emergenza and these past shows just reiterated the venue’s astounding qualities. Great sound, staff and neat décor aid The Loft in being one of Emergenza’s favorite venues. Poiema kicked off this weekend’s events with a tight Christian Rock set that had good meaning, positive energy and great musicianship. That’s Unfortunate followed with a harder set that incorporated screaming vocals, rippin’ guitar licks and thumpin’ rhythms. Chilton & TexBukSex never ceases to bring the party! A funk band with style and energy, technically proficient musicians and an all-around good time vibe! The Fresh Drum Fingers stepped up for a kick-ass set. With great lyrics and stupendous guitar solos these guys were awesome entertainers! 6 DICE stormed the stage with a set that had everyone on their toes! Their original compositions were upbeat and fun. This great band surely knows how to put on a good show! Sixth Hour stepped up to a packed audience. Their songs were tight, rhythms on-point and guitar work was great. With a strong lead vocalist these guys swept the audience away. They will be performing at Center Stage for the regional finals in Atlanta on June 30th. Stand Alone was also awe-inspiring. Their ability to capture the audience and hold them down with great compositions, tight vocals and ripping guitar work nailed them a spot at the Finals in Atlanta as well. Bari. kicked off Friday night’s semi-final rounds with an excellent pop rock set. With accomplished musicians, special guest rapper Chief, strong songwriting and technically perfect musicians these guys are definitely a group to keep your eyes peeled for in the Atlanta area. Adagio then took over with an R&B set that had everyone amazed! These guys use perfectly pitched harmonies, awesome rhythms, keys and guitar solos to show the audience how good Atlanta bands can be! Swank Motel is destined for greatness. Their Indie sound is new, innovative and original. These youngsters won the hearts of staff, fans and audiences alike as they ripped through an impressive set. Sonen had a unique indie-rock style. Having some beautiful and talented ladies in band always adds for an interesting sound! Their songs were original and spunky, their musicianship on-point. Check them out at Atlanta’s final this June. The Aqua-Fi Project is new to the Atlanta area, but obviously not new to being a well-accomplished and hard-working band. Their original sound, aided by a mix of acoustic guitar and electronics, had the audience in a trance. With keys and strong vocals the audience was impressed and voted this band on to the final round at Center Stage. State of Unrest then stepped up ready to rock the faces off of old and young! The audience loved their diverse sound. They had incredible lyrics, high energy and great musicianship. These New Yorkers brought some of that N.Y.C. talent and drive to the dirty south! Carrilla Zurda closed out Friday’s show with a Latino-Based rock set that was incredible. The crowd loved the quick-paced vocals and the amazing rhythm section. With guitar solos interweaving between beastie-boys type singing these guys were not going away without throwing a good party! Filtro opened up Saturday’s semi finals with a Latino-Rock set that was fantastic! Spunky, original and entertaining these guys blew everyone away. With an excellent rhythm section, great guitar licks, stage presence and a smoke machine this show was off-the-hook! Bill Hart Project then performed a jazzy instrumental set.
