Smash Hit in San Francisco

Emergenza's Quarter-Finals Were Rockin’!

This past weekend Emergenza held its quarter final rounds at the Rockit Room in San Francisco, California. The Rockit Room is a fabulous venue home to many greats such as BB King when it was formerly known as Last Day Salon. With incredible sound, an excellent staff and an old timey vibe this was the perfect venue for San Francisco’s unsigned bands to showcase. Katie Jane opened the weekend’s showcase with a set that was sweet and sultry. With angelic vocals, keyboards and an astounding guitar player the evening was off to a great start. Ghost Tree then changed the mood with a hard-rock set complete with excellent rhythms and strong compositions. Zootzilla got the party thumping with a funk set that was original, spunky and wild. With costumes, masks, and Miss Hot Spank adding to the revelry this band not only knew how to entertain, but also captured the hearths of the audience. Amaya followed with a Spanish rock set that exhibited excellent vocals, strong rhythms and tight guitar solos. She wooed the hearts of the crowd, and despite the lyrics being in another language the audience felt the emotional impact of the music. Throckmorton then took the stage and performed a progressive rock set that was vibrant, energetic and original. With a great stage presence and well-written songs these guys were impressive. Hell69 closed out the event with a metal set that was heavy, dark and deep. With songs that had the audience bumping around forming a mosh pit and others intently listening these guys ended the show with a bang. The Common You, a ska band opened Saturday’s shows with a set that was energetic and unforgettable. They incorporated a sax, trumpet and excellent guitar solos to make for a very energetic show. With a lady keeping down the drum beat and awesome compositions these guys are ones to keep your eyes out for! If Nobody Knew had a more indie rock sound that was both intriguing and heartfelt. With excellent vocals and strong guitar work these guys not only looked the part, but played it as well. Trust then stepped up with a tight heavy rock set. With a bass player that also sang, strong guitar riffs and great rhythms these guys were on point. United closed out this weekend’s events to a packed audience. With great lyrics, thumping bass lines, a strong drum beat and smooth guitar solos they closed out the weekend with an impressive and original set. More quarter-finals to come this weekend, and then Emergenza’s Semi Final rounds will commence at 12 Galaxies. Stay tuned at Emergenza Magazine to find out how you can get your ticket!
