San Diego builds up the tempo one brick at a time...

Well the scene in San Diego was at the Brick by Brick where Emergenza stirred up its pot of talent. Thursday night of the first round of semi’s started with The Ether who didn’t solicit the stage, and JD Combs and the soul stealers had a medley combination that had an apparition of their own. Hector’s Revenge thundered through their set moving onto the finals. While Projekthyde obeyed their thirst for rock, and Decompression were hell bound to move onto the finals! Ruckus made a dent in the night, and Crowley instigated their own Valhalla on stage. Three Hits and a miss came on into the set with some serious noise while IDS rounded off this night with a simple end that moved the crowd. Friday, had the Skank Agents perform a Ska set that moved them onto the Finals, while Open Wound brought out metal in a new form. Despite The Wolves had a set that was like throwing knives at mirrors, and Variable were a progressive force that also moved on to the finals. Call Me Alice had its lead singer in a delightful hula style dress with pig tails, and Crime In America had something going on with punk folkers, while My Laughing Face were weightless with an indie-rock set that had the crowd swarming towards the stage. The Chi Club closed this night with Ice Chi. Saturday had Dufreign perform a alternative set, and Transic Vibe that had a sick Eclectic sound. The Perils of Being were melodic hard-rock, and Dying wish put on an all out metal set. Two Word Name were a force to be reckoned with as they shone on to the Finals. Moment of Silence played onto to crowd with fury, and Ultra Underground brought out the laptop to complete their set. Touch of Cas rounded off this weekend of shows with a hip-hop set that moved them onto the Finals.
