Charlotte Couldn't Have Rocked Harder!

The last set of elimination rounds was a success!



Emergenza hosted Charlotte, North Carolina’s final set of elimination rounds this past weekend in the N.O.D.A. arts district at The Evening Muse. The Muse was the perfect place for Emergenza to make its debut in this lovely North Carolina city. With an excellent sound system and an intimate setting the music lovers and musicians alike were pleased. Friday night Shadoline kicked off the festivities with a progressive rock set that was original and energetic. They ripped through their set complete with excellent compositions and a strong stage presence. Zues then stormed the stage with a metal set that had the audience on fire! They screamed and roared through a set that incorporated great guitar riffs and astounding drum beats. Such As Life stepped up to a packed audience and played a hard-rock set that had everyone abuzz with the vibes of good rock. With a brand new vocalist and seasoned musicians these guys sure knew how to pump up the audience and put on a good show. Humans were incredible with a bluesy rock’n’roll set that had everyone begging for more. The band held things down while the lead vocalist belted out lyrics with a passion that screamed rockstar. Next Exit followed with an alternative rock sound that utilized great vocalizations, excellent rhythms and strong guitar work. These guys had an original sound that was surely appreciated by all. Unsustained Cause jumped onto the stage and changed to mood a bit with a pop punk set that had upbeat rhythms, great vocals and an excellent stage presence. Shotgun For the Scene closed out Friday’s show with a metal set that was extraordinary! With tight changes and tough licks these guys finished out Friday’s show with pure metal energy! Saturday was yet another night filled with diversity and talent. Lots of ladies in the line-up and they aimed to impress! Luna’s Lament opened the show with a hard-rock set led by an energetic front man who had an awesome ability to interact with the audience. Fans couldn’t help but be totally impressed by the lady rippin’ metal guitar! Great compositions, strong vocals and an all-around perfect opener made for a great show. Lindy Dobbins & The Red Velvet Manx then took the stage and performed an alternative rock set that had the crowd in a hush. Lindy’s angelic vocals mixed with bumping bass lines and awesome guitar solos had all hands raised! On By Seven then played pure rock’n’roll. With strong vocals, badass beats and excellent songwriting these guys were a great addition to an already amazing show! High Ride took everyone by surprise when they performed a set that seemed to have the influences of rock, blues, funk, Latin and pop. The guitarist was out of this world and the audience fed off of the bands energy. Funkshua had a unique jazzy jam band vibe as they played 2 long and intricate instrumental songs. They incorporated percussion, keyboards, samples and drumbeats to complete a unique and interesting sound. Lucky Five then blew the audience away with an original set that was energetic and upbeat. With a beautiful front lady belting out wispy lyrics, a powerful young lead guitarist, superb keys and top-notch rhythms these guys had everything! Retrovisions Upon Recollection followed with an amazing experimental rock set. With a front man on the turntables and incredible compositions these guys weren’t lying when they said they were “your mama’s favorite band!”. Captured closed out this weekend’s event and Emergenza’s final set of elimination rounds with a hard-rock set that was flawless. Great vocals, a strong stage presence and a knack for technicalities made for a perfect closer. Emergenza’s debut season in Charlotte has been nothing but fun! North Carolina has displayed an array of excellent music, an abundance of talent and enough good energy to sweep the South East
