Back in Pittsburgh!

The last week of the 1st round at the Shadow Lounge

This was a great weekend in Pittsburgh except for the freezing temperatures. Besides that we had great line up of bands from all walks of life. Thursday, February 1st hosted to Dark Martyr taking the first position, with a great display of metal. Better Then Work came in second, followed by Pathamos in third. This was a good Thursday night indeed. Now Friday yelled even more Emergenza band at the Shadow Lounge. We had a great crowd on Friday. Everyone was pumped up and all the bands where Rockin’ out! Mindset set the bar for the night taking the first position for the night. These guys had a strong set and delivered a performance that took the win for the night. Video Mummy brought us a taste of grunge with hip-hop. But Big House Pete, man those guys where dirty!!! “Get Out Of My House!!” That’s all I’ve got say. Saturday, February 3rd brought a returning winner to show Pittsburgh how it’s done. Masters of the Universe, you surely are!! This is by far the most well presented band in Pittsburgh. Another great band that is sure to stand out was Black Forest. They had great vocals, great guitars and well just a great band! This was a kick ass night! And then there was Sunday. Well I didn’t think I would be able to say it, but not only did this band get a standing ovation, but they also stole the show. I’m talking about Cellofourte of course. A four-piece cello rock group, the only cello rock group for that matter! This band was amazing. This is a must see act! This band followed 3 metal bands but managed to wow them all. Men Amongst Giants where right behind Cellofourte with their crowd of metal dancers! Every one stayed for this show and that supports made this one of those stand out night that someone like my self waits for, and it finally came. So, We’ve got a few months to get prepared for the semi finals at Mr. Smalls. I can’t wait to see what happens here in Pittsburgh, this year. Will the Masters Own the city again or will some smaller band take the city by storm. We will see what happens in the future. I’ll be watching. Thanks Pittsburgh.
