Nashville Elimination Rounds are a Wrap
Once again the Nashville music scene proved to be one of the strongest in the South as bands of all genres geared up to play Emergenza’s final set of elimination rounds this past weekend at 12th and Porter, one of music city’s finest rock venues. With brand new Genz Benz equipment and rockin’ line-ups this past weekend was the essence of truly quality sound and performance!
There was no lack of talent as 3 bands took the stage on Thursday night at 12th and Porter. Joshua Scott Jones & The Colors stepped up and displayed a breathtaking set. With amazing vocals, by both Joshua Scott Jones and his lovely female vocalist, they played songs that were well composed and appreciable.
Sanction of Secrecy then stormed the stage with a harder rock set that utilized strong rhythms, excellent guitar licks and yet another astounding female lead vocalist. Pathos closed out Thursday’s Emergenza show with a fun-filled high-energy rock set that blew the audience away. With a female lead vocalist that strongly belted out heart-felt lyrics 12th and Porter was alive with original and awe inspiring music.
Friday’s Emergenza shows were jam packed with bands of all genres. With heavy metal, alternative and indie bands this show was sure to be unforgettable.
Hidden Among Heroes were young, energetic and had a stellar stage presence. Hybris then switched the mood and roared through their set that blew the audience away. The Analysts performed their debut show with an indie style of their own. With a tight rhythm section they had the audience cheering.
Seraph, a Christian rock band, then stepped up to rock the house with great vocalizations. They knew how to really interact with the audience.
Open Handed Scars were up next with a hardcore-metal set that had spectators thrashing! With a great stage presence, and a strong mix of singing and screaming these guys were pretty impressive.
Brothers Bentley then shook things up with an alternative indie style that incorporated excellent lyrics and vocalizations, strong rhythms and a purely positive vibe. True North was a sensational band complete with intricate keyboard solos interweaving between splendid guitar riffs. They had the audience singing along as they belted out songs that remind us that we can have a good time despite our current world conditions.
Fraid Knot, from Maryville, TN cranked things up with a metal set that raged. With original scores and badass guitar solos these guys rocked it all the way from Knoxville to Nashville.
The Casino Thieves closed out the evening with a new style: progressive soul. They were a solid band with a great lead vocalist and performed music that soothed the soul.
Emergenza’s final night of Elimination rounds at 12th and Porter Saturday was the perfect way to end yet another great elimination series in Music City.
Chad Harris kicked things off with a rock show that set the mood for the evening. With acoustic driven ballads and intense rhythms Saturday’s show began with a bang.
Craigside, a southern rock band was up next with strong vocals, serious guitar licks and original lyrics that had a unique twist. Reese Browning was smokin’ with a pop-rock set. Excellent vocals and lyrics, incredible bass riffs and a female keyboardist added an edge to the already exciting show.
Stickman Band followed with a jovial rock set that had the crowd on their toes. The Whickersham Brothers then took the stage with a sound of their own. Vintage rock and a modern indie sound had the audience breakin’ it down.
Lost Generation followed with an incredibly one-of-a-kind set that was hard to top. With songs like “We Are Fucked Up” and an excellent interaction with the audience these guys knew how to rile up a crowd. Their guitarist even played his guitar with a bow!
