Cincinnati’s doin’ it again!
The opening weekend at the Blue Note
It’s the kick off back at the Blue Note here in Cincinnati, and this season is looking to shape up to be a good one. With bands coming from all over the area from as far away as Dayton, Ohio. One of these bands this weekend will go all the way to final in Indianapolis, but who will it be?
Thursday alone was packed full of great bands from Wicked Intent who took the first position, to Lyin’ In Ruins who rocked out in to the number two position, no one should be left out.
Solid Six, and T.H.C. or The High Council for those who know them, were our other two bands who placed to move on to the next round as well. Both of these bands are must see bands. There wasn’t a sad face in the house this Thursday.
Between Friday and Saturday, I think I have seen a few of my favorite bands all year so far. Frontier Folk Nebraska! Need I say any more? This band damn near stole the night, Americana at its’ best. Then theses the toss up between Spindle and Seconds away, both bands had an amazing show, I guess I’ll just give them a tie!
On Friday Shattered Darkness took the cake. These guys sure where one great metal band, and an while we are on the topic of metal bands, Shattered Darkness and Dead Broke, yea you guys need to get together for a show!! These two days featured some great bands for all music lovers alike.
Now Sunday brought back the 2005 winner for another great bluesy show. Autumn’s Hazy Eyes took the 1st position with another great show. Not too far behind was a great young band called The Last Troubadour. This band had a great new-rock style that will sure prove a great competition in the semi finals.
This weekend proved that Cincinnati is still on the music map. I am very sure that this city is going to give the rest of Ohio a run for their money. Keep and eye on Cin City!
