Breaking in the Shadow Lounge!
The opening weekend in Pittsburgh
This was the opening weekend in Pittsburgh at the Shadow Lounge, and what a way to start things off. This weekend was jam packed with great talent. From Thursday to Sunday you couldn’t ask for a better lineup.
Thursday, January 11th
Thursday’s 1st place band, Decay on Display laid it all out and showed the Shadow Lounge how they get down. With a strong set these guys will surely give everyone a run for their money. Not far behind, there was Singine, this heavy hitting metal band is one to put on the must see list.
Even the hip-hop was there to show us how they do it: Brictop gave a great show with deep lyrics, and a great band to fill all the musical gaps.
Alive in the Underground closed the show and also took the 3rd position with them when they left. This show was an awesome way to open the season at a new venue in Pittsburgh.
Friday12th, Saturday13th, Sunday14th
Friday Saturday, and even Sunday was insane. There were too many good bands to even mention. Everything from Neighbor, The Hank Cooper Band, Shattered, The High, Escaping Grace or Spoonchatter: every band was worth ever minute and left you begging for more.
Neighbor, and The High where two stand out bands for me. These guys got on stage and jammed out some of their best tunes, grabbing the crowd by the hand and taking them for a musical ride. I haven’t seen that many people dancing since the Natives of the New Dawn played in Detroit two years ago.
I cant wait to see what really will happen in Pittsburgh as this season moves along towards the final in June.
For those of you who have not seen before, you need to do me a favor right now! Go to Emergenza Magazine right now and click on the Pittsburgh page and check out some of the bands links to their websites, listen to their music, and for Pete’s sake go see one of their shows you won’t be disappointed.
Pittsburgh I salute you! This is Nancy Stone from Emergenza Magazine saying Pittsburgh’s calling a Come Back! SEE YOU NEXT TIME!
