ROCK 'N' ROLL IN TULSA!

Emergenza kicks off in the Oil Capital

Last week Emergenza Festival kicked off in Tulsa, OK for the first time with two great night of shows. The event took place at The Pinkeye, a nice little venue in the heart of downtown Tulsa. Friday, December 1st On Friday night Spencer Sharpe started with a very neat acoustic set featured by a strong lead vocal. The death metal band Rotting Cycle got on stage next and put on a hell of a show… loud, aggressive, intense and powerful. Their scream could wake the dead… Even The Dogs followed and performed a very tight set. Chris Mc Leod put together a very dynamic and intense sound characterized by two acoustic guitars and a violin. Great tunes! The folk rock band Symon, named after the lead acoustic guitar player, did a very cool gig… outstanding violin player! Saturday, December 2nd On Saturday the heavy metal guys from Native War kicked off with a bang. Next on the line-up was Black Jesus. They put together a sound that was a good concoction of punk-rock-alternative and good vocals. Orpheus got the crowd to move and scream by playing a very tight and solid rock set. The young pop-punk guys from Sunlight Of The Ascent took the stage next and were very talkative and interactive with the crowd. Zero Crossing had their guitar screaming on stage! Solid rock set, guys! The Christian rock band Sonrise Jack played some great melodies and The John Calvin Experiment closed the night with a very unique and trippy experimental sound. What a guitar player! The bands and the crowd showed that the local music scene in Tulsa is alive and they are ready for another blowing-mind weekend of Emergenza shows in March.
