Yes, it’s true. The biggest independent coalition of music services companies in the United States have just joined forces with Emergenza and the Track1 management company to provide us with 4 slots at the world most influential stage in March 2007 for a 4 day music extravaganza. South By South West is always being the trend-setter in the music industry “announcing” and showcasing the stars of tomorrow. The coalition (or co-op as they all would like to be called) is now going through a series of names and copyrighted “steps” that will announce the name of the “co-op” and the showcase festival itself officially in March 2007. Last year’s first experiment with the Nashville based company Dreamscapers has landed an Emergenza band a recording contract. Believe or not, I’ve been asked not to print the name of the band or the record company as I sworn to secrecy (I’m not kidding this is more official than Scotland Yard would make it) and there are music business lawyers involved (too many in my opinion). Jokes aside, this is really serious and the most amazing opportunity for any band to get a spot. Some Bands will be selected in the national finals and some will be picked out of ANY rounds of the Emergenza festival that a band or artist may take part in. This is all about finding the “crème de la crème” of music in North America and beyond. All styles including Pop, Rock, Indie, Alternative, Heavy Rock, Hip Hop, Funky are accepted as criteria for selection.
